The Legion's Community Commitment

The Royal British Legion plays an active role in the local community, and we rely on the help of our members to carry out our work in their local areas. There are many ways people can help and become involved, and it is essential to our work for the serving and ex-Service community.

To raise public awareness of what the Legion does in our community and encourage more people to get involved with the welfare and membership activities of the Legion, we participate in various events and activities such as:

  • County Shows
  • Local Fetes/Fairs
  • Open Evenings
  • Concerts
  • Armed Forces Day (previously Veterans Day)
  • attending Carnivals, Military Air Shows & Military Open Days.

If you have an event planned then let County HQ know all about it. The 'Legion in the Community' (LIC) scheme is a perfect opportunity to publicise your Royal British Legion event.

Get in touch with the County Secretary if you want to know more about 'Legion in the Community'. LIC briefings can be delivered at your Group or Branch Meetings. Don't be shy invite them along!

Check out our News and Events section for details of planned events.
