Welcome to the Royal British Legion Branch  - Ferndown
We hope our website provides you with sufficent information to assist any query you may have.

The Royal British Legion is the UK's leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants. Currently, nearly 10.5 million people are eligible for our support and we receive thousands of calls for help every year.

The Legion was founded in 1921 as a voice for the ex-Service community and at it's peak over 450,000 members; to ensure that this voice does not go unheard. Although the needs of ex-Service people have changed over the years, we are still there to safeguard their welfare, interests and memory. British service people are in action around the world every day of the year. They know that if they need our support - now or in the future - the Legion is always on active duty for them

The committee's roles and responibilites are to service the local need of the above and effectively manage the Trust's assets

The Ferndown branch is run by an elected group of volunteers who act as trustees during the nominated period which can be between 12 - 36 months. They meet on the 2nd Monday of each third month and welcome new members on the third Monday of the month at 7-30pm. This brief initial meeting is to welcome new members, introduce the officers, outline the purpose of the branch and our aims for the current year. An overview of the facilities of the club which is managed independently by RBL Club Ferndown Ltd provides the conclusion of the meeting. Effectively to simplify the difference between the Branch and Club committees:- the Branch manage all the Trusts assets, Welfare and the Poppy Appeal events and interests, this includes any income from assets. The Club, as a valued tenant of the Trust manages the running of the facilities, activities and entertainment of the Ferndown premises.
